St Dupont Pen Serial Number Check

Almost all limited editions will have an issue number, rather than a serial number, like 0050/1000. In addition, the markings on the bottom are often slightly different, and there may be no dupont emblem at all on some limited editions, although almost all still have the 'ST Dupont made in paris' text. And the seller replied with a firm 'N0'. Hi, zeteibao: Did you ever hear from Dupont about the serial number of that Fidelio FP? There is one for sale on eBay even as I write (#22), and the seller even sent me personally a picture of the serial number on the pen's clip. The photograph is not good enough for me to decipher what that number is, but I do n.

S.T.Dupont products

Do Montblanc Pens Have Serial Numbers

  1. How are S.T.Dupont products manufactured?

S.T.Dupont’s collections are made in France and the main production site is in Faverges, Haute-Savoie. A desire for perfection and a culture of quality and care are the foundations of the work done by each employee, craftsman and technician in our workshops.

Since the beginning, the silversmith’s trade has played a key role in the creation of S.T.Dupont’s objects. Indeed, back then, the many precious travel case accessories were decorated with ornamental silverwork.

The silversmith uses precious or rare metals, such as gold, silver, palladium and platinum. The silversmith’s work consists of three operations: creation of ornamental decoration, polishing and plating. The ornamental designs are painstakingly sculpted from solid brass for guaranteed longevity. Bolstered by its expertise, S.T.Dupont uses designs that are technically audacious: large, polished surfaces on which the slightest defect would stand out or ornamental designs that require the utmost precision. This technical prowess results in many unique, original and fashionable designs: hundreds of designs have already been created.

Lighters need 500 to 600 basic operations and around 70 parts, and the manufacturing cycle usually takes 4 to 5 months. Each object is unique, as the worker who assembled the lighter engraves his initials under the wheel. These initials discretely reflect the pride taken when manufacturing the object.

It takes 140 to 150 basic operations and 10 to 20 parts (without refills) to manufacture a pen. The manufacturing cycle generally lasts 2 to 3 months.

The company has built its success on leather work, its original trade. Today, S.T.Dupont sells 5 ranges of very high quality leather goods, ranging from high end to very high end. In order to ensure the best possible quality, S.T.Dupont selects the best European hides. These hides are worked on with great care to combine beauty and strength.

S.T.Dupont works with leading manufacturers from France, Italy and Spain, recognised for their leather expertise. The quality of the accessories is impeccable: gold, palladium or ruthenium finishes that remind you of S.T.Dupont's expertise as a silversmith.

  5. What lacquer does S.T.Dupont use?

Natural lacquer is of plant origin. It is the sap of Rhus Vernicifera, a tree that can grow up to 10 metres high and 40 centimetres in diameter. The lacquer is extracted by incision then collection over 5 months in bamboo baskets. The sap goes slightly brown on contact with the air and takes on the consistency of latex.
